Do Your Brakes Need to be Repaired or Replaced?

You always need to be ready for what could be round the corner and prepared to brake hard if you need to. That being said, it is incredibly important to make sure that you have your braking system checked regularly by the professionals at your nearest Croxdale Autocentre.

There are many ways to identify when/if your braking system has developed any issues. Possibly the most common is being able to hear your brakes when you apply pressure to them while driving. If you hear any squeaks or scrapes or if you feel your car pulling to one side when the brakes are applied you may need to have your vehicle braking system inspected.

How Brakes Work

Modern cars have brakes on all four wheels, operated by a hydraulic system, which uses brake fluid. Most commonly the brakes on a vehicle consist of disk brakes at the front of the vehicle and rear drum brakes on the back end of the vehicle. These are operated using a system consisting of a hydraulic circuit that is linked to work with the brakes pedal, and the brakes themselves. This hydraulic circuit works with the brake pedal to help multiply the braking force you use when applying pressure to the pedal, to help the vehicle come to a stop.

Brake Repair at Croxdale Fast Fit

At Croxdale Fast Fit we offer an entirely free brake fluid check as part of our vehicle health check, which is also included in our servicing schedule. All Croxdale brake specialists are fully trained and committed to maintaining your brakes in an expert and most cost-effective way possible.

Repair time differs depending on the vehicle. Repairs can take as little as 30-60 minutes, or as long as a few hours. Based on your vehicle, we would give an estimated completion time upon booking.

We will visually check the components of your braking system on a vehicle service or a vehicle health check. This includes the brake fluid, which is also important to keep in good condition. A safe and fully functional braking system apportions the correct amount of braking force to each wheel and will therefore safely pass the MOT Test.
